Four Mask Shards in Hollow Knight: Silksong equal an additional point of health for Hornet, and they are able to extend their lifespan by a maximum of five Masks by acquiring all 20. A few of these shards appear in secret rooms and platforming puzzles while others are acquired by shopkeepers or quest rewards. A breakdown of where to get each Mask Shard in Pharloom follows:.

Early Locations: Bone Bottom, Wormways, Shellwood

Your initial Mask Shard is located on Pebb within Bone Bottom for 300 Rosaries. There is another in Wormways at the bottom — destroy the right wall to access it. Shellwood contains a shard behind a platforming challenge as well: pogo over three flowers, and then destroy the right wall to access a secret room with the shard at the end.

Far Fields Finds

Far Fields has some environmental challenges. One requires the use of Drifter’s Cloak to resist exploding due to unstable rocks and blow up the volcano bomb in order to get into a hidden entry that holds the shard. The other is found next to the large skull on the bottom right of the biome. Gradually descend down through the Cloak, start a fight by breaking volcanic rock, and climb back up to the skull having the shard underneath. You can also get a Mask Shard in Act 3 by defeating a Pilgrim’s Rest competition challenge by Sprintmaster Swift.

Deep Zones: Deep Docks, Weavenest Atla, and Bellhart

One is located down the hallway straight in Deep Docks, accessed by following the Marrow path. The other is occupied by Weavenest Atla, but needs to be entered with a full set of movement moves — Cling Grip, Swift Step, and Drifter’s Cloak. Scale the elevator shaft, shoot a secret tunnel, and complete a tricky pogo-and-magma platforming test to access it.

Bellhart resonates a few shards to quests: one is a Wish reward for slaying the Savage Beastfly, and two further on in Act 3 for finishing Dark Arts and Savage Wishes.

Choral Chambers, Cogwork Core, and Whispering Vaults

Vendor Jubliana will also sell a Mask Shard in Choral Chambers for 750 Rosaries, but after completing The Wandering Merchant Wish. In Cogwork Core, you’ll need to battle through a fight sequence on the lower-left shaft, switch a switch, and walljump up to reach a shard on a showcase pedestal. Whispering Vaults hides its shard more deeply — smash ceiling curtains to reveal an opening ladder upwards into an attic, and then keep climbing hidden shafts until you find a glass display case holding the shard.

Mountain and Cavern Shards: Mount Fay, Brightvein, and Bilewater

They are found in Mount Fay, the left side of which features a pillar of stone at the back end supporting it. The second is found being held in Brightvein in Act 3, where Hornet must make her way through a clunky crystal-and-spike platforming sequence before she breaks a rock vein at the end.

Bilewater shard is to the north of the grub river map label. Walljump and grapple over the rivers, then slowly wade them, before entering through a shaft to collect it.

Final Challenges: Blasted Steps and Wisp Thicket

The Blasted Steps shard only exists in Act 3. Start at the bottom-left of the area, and Silk Soar up and up and up until you are sitting on the shard at the top. Finally, in Wisp Thicket, travel from Greymoor into the tower next to Halfway Home, go north out, and pogo up along a concealed ceiling path. Travel right until you’ve located the shard concealed in the thicket.

By piecing together every shard from merchants, quests, hidden rooms, and grueling trials, you’ll collect all 20 Mask Shards in Silksong. This unlocks five extra health points — an invaluable boost for surviving the toughest bosses Pharloom has to offer.
