How to Get a Mount in New World Aeternum

Aeternum is quite vast, and exploring on foot can take a lot of time. Fortunately, there are three unlockable mounts you can obtain through quests and by meeting specific requirements. Keep in mind that the mounts don’t vary in speed; it all comes down to your Riding skill. 

Horse Mount

When you reach level 20, a horseshoe icon will appear on your map. This indicates it’s time to start the ‘Change of the Wild’ questline to unlock the horse mount. Make your way to Everfall, speak with Jochi Khan, and start the ‘My Kingdom for a Horse’ quest. Once you complete it, you’ll receive your horse mount.

Dire Wolf Mount

If you want to earn the Dire Wolf mount, you first will have to reach level 45. The good starting point is unlocking the horse mount and further completing the horse races that can be found on your map. Then, visit Weaver’s Fen and speak with Francois De La Arma in order to start ‘Smuggler’s Ring Circuit’ quest. Complete the questline – then you will unlock Dire Wolf mount.

Lion Mount

To unlock the Lion mount, you’ll need to reach level 65 and have both the horse and Dire Wolf mounts. Start by completing the first four races given by Valencia, then tackle five more challenging races from Satiah Ramotep. Once you’ve finished all the races, talk to Satiah to begin the Codex Aeternum Circuit questline. Complete this questline, and you’ll unlock the prized Lion mount.

How to Level up a Mount in New World Aeternum

Levelling up your mounts is a fantastic way to increase their speed and stamina, allowing them to run faster and longer. You’ll need to level up each mount before you can unlock a higher rarity one. Plus, as you level up your mount, you’ll also improve your Riding Skill, so it’s a great way to accomplish two goals at once. Following are some ways to level up your mounts in New World Aeternum:

• Feed them with Barley, Water, Milk, or Mount Vittles to help boost their levels.
• Look for mount-specific quests while you explore; these will also help you gain experience.
• Participate in timed races and try to hit all the checkpoints before time runs out.
• Craft Vittles for your mounts. It comes in four tiers, with each one offering more Riding XP than the last.
