In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you will need to replenish your health often for surviving the dangers of the world. There are several ways to find and use health potions – exploring, completing quests, or battling tough bosses. But potions aren’t your only option – Rook’s healing skills and abilities from your companions can provide an alternative way to recover health. This guide will walk you through how to find health potions and heal in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Find Health Potions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Fortunately, health potions are easy to find. As you explore the world, follow quest paths, or battle bosses, you’ll often come across large green pots nearby. To use one, simply get close and break it open by attacking. Once it’s destroyed, the potion will drop on the ground.

If you have room in your health potion stock, the dropped potion will be added to your supplies automatically. If your stock is full but you’re not at full health, the potion will still be used to restore your health. However, if you’re at full health and have max potions, the potion will just sit on the ground. The good news is, it will stay there until you leave the area, so if you need it later, you can come back and pick it up.

Another way to find health potions is by keeping an eye out at the end of quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. It doesn’t happen every time, but after important story moments or boss fights, you’ll often find health potions lying on the ground. You can simply pick them up without needing to break any pots.

How to heal without Health Potions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Along with potions, players can heal their wounds using Rook’s skills. As you level up your character and upgrade their abilities, you’ll unlock healing skills that work like potions but can recharge over time. This option is especially useful for players who choose the Mage class.

As you build your relationship with the companions in The Veilguard and upgrade your skills, most of your potential party members will gain abilities that can restore your health when other options are used up. These abilities include the Soothing Potion and Replenish skills. Characters like Neve, Bellara, and Emmrich can use the Soothing Potion, while Harding and Lucanis can unlock the Replenish skill. To use them, just open the quick-select menu for skills (R1 on PlayStation, RB on Xbox) and choose the Soothing Potion or Replenish option, both marked by a heart symbol and green color.
