In The Forest, the managing of inventory is something one must do to survive. Although some items are easily dropped, most are carried in the inventory. The player can increase the amount of storage by creating storage units such as stick holders, rock holders, and cabinets. These structures will help keep the resources organized, which would otherwise lead to clutter, making it easier to find what you need at a given time. All this storage option allows you to prepare well in the wild for what will come at you.
How to Drop Items
To get rid of something, open your inventory by pressing ‘I’. Then, choose the item you want to drop and press ‘G’. Most items will just go back into your inventory if you try to drop them. However, you can only drop a few things. Also, each item has a limit in your inventory. If you pick up too many of the same item, the extra ones will automatically fall to the ground.
How to Increase the Inventory
To keep your inventory organized, you can build storage units.
- How to find the storage options:
- Open your Survival Guide by pressing ‘B’.
- Click the down-arrow icon at the top to see all the storage options.
- Choose your storage:
- You can build racks, cabinets, or any other item holders you like.
- Explore all the options:
- The storage section has three pages.
- Click “Storage2” or “Storage3” at the bottom right to see more options.
Once you’ve gathered the materials and built the shelf, you can store items from your inventory by clicking ‘C’. To take items back from the shelf, simply press ‘E’ on your keyboard.
