Wild Hearts is a game in the monster hunt genre that is set in feudal Japan. It will be released by Electronic Arts and is said to be the best contender for the Monster Hunter franchise of Capcom. Not only do you get to hunt down Kemono in an environment that is very scenic with the sakura blossoms, you get an array of weapons from bows to swords, to using Karakuri-buildings, traps and structures to modify and manipulate the field to your advantage.
And even with the wide diversity of kemono, there are some who you can pet or take down easily to get your loot, while there are some like the Dreadclaw that will test your limits. So, how do you go about beating Dreadclaw? This article will help you out.
How to Beat Dreadclaw in Wild Hearts
In Wild Hearts, the Dreadclaw is a Kemono that has been designed, based on a rooster. It has several attacks and a wide array of them. Not going to lie, it is quite aggressive and hence a bit of a pain to deal with. But we have listed the strategies you are going to need to beat this Kemono.
The Dreadclaw is a Wind attribute Kemono, that is weakest to Fire attacks. Needless to say, it is resistant to the Wind element. The Dreadclaw is most vulnerable to slashing assaults on its head, wings, and throat overall. Ablaze or Entangled sicknesses can help in this battle and are significantly more effective than other diseases. I mean look at the damage in the above picture.
As the Dreadclaw has a high resistance to poison and fatigue, avoid utilising weapons with the Wind attribute. Additionally, the Dreadclaw has Hunter Arm weak spots on its flanks that could show up throughout the battle. You can push the Kemono back while producing additional Karakuri Thread to create gadgets by latching onto one of them. Due to the Dreadclaw’s susceptibility to being set on fire, the Torch Karakuri in particular is highly effective in this battle.
Best Armor against Dreadclaw in Wild Hearts
The Young Samurai armour set will offer the strongest protection against the Dreadclaw’s blows because of its Wind characteristic. Dreadclaw’s most potent strikes will do less damage to you because to this armour set’s excellent Wind protection.
The most effective weapon is one with a Fire characteristic. However, if you do not possess one, Wood, Water, and Earth are also viable choices. Slash-type weapons like the Katana will deliver the greatest damage. Once again if you do not possess one, pummelled and lunge weapons won’t have any trouble keeping up.
Complete Breakdown of Dreadclaw Fight in Wild Hearts
The Dreadclaw is a quick and ferocious Wind attribute Kemono that will continue striking if it manages to catch you off guard, giving you little time to restore your balance. The Dreadclaw has a few holes that can be used, though, if you can avoid its barrage of blows.
The Dreadclaw’s claw lunge is one of its most frequent attacks. The Kemono will make a little hop into the air before diving at you with its claws exposed. It will then move into a new position to aim at you once more and resume this attack. If the second strike is unsuccessful, the Dreadclaw will fall to the ground and become vulnerable to assaults.
Its triple peck is a somewhat less lethal, assault. Three times in a row, the Dreadclaw will repeatedly peck at the ground in front of it while advancing marginally with each strike. During this move, if you can get behind the Kemono, you have a brief window of opportunity to counterattack. The Dreadclaw will hover briefly throughout the combat before hitting the space directly underneath it. This move may cause a lot of damage, but if you can avoid it by rolling or diving into the air while the Dreadclaw is pounding the ground with a Crate Karakuri, it will leave a big opening.
The sonic blast is one of the Dreadclaw’s most destructive assaults. The Dreadclaw will suddenly release a sonic shockwave from its jaws that will immediately blast a region in a straight line to its front. The Dreadclaw possesses additional frontal-based attacks, so it’s important to avoid standing immediately in front of it despite the difficulty in foreseeing this assault.
The Dreadclaw will become considerably more deadly when angered. Its strikes will land faster and hit harder, and its wings will grow bigger and start to glow a little. In this phase, the Dreadclaw continually flies into the air and shoots waves of pellets at you from above, which is the primary difference. The Dreadclaw will continue to strike in this way or by lunging at you with its head while it is still in the air. You may, however, knock the Dreadclaw out of the sky with the Firework Karakuri you make by aligning three torches in a column, leaving a sizable gap through which to attack.
The Dreadclaw will utilise its claw dive three times in a row when it is agitated, failing the third time if it misses you. After evading the first two dives, watch out for the third one, and be prepared to strike when it lands on the ground. Additionally, the Dreadclaw may strike you quickly with an aerial lunge. If this strike succeeds in hitting you, it will cause unavoidable damage and immobilise you for the duration. You won’t be able to escape this strike if you are struck, so use extra caution when evading it.
Final Tips for Defeating Dreadclaw in Wild Hearts
Firstly, make sure to watch out for its wide array of attacks, be it the claw lunge or the sonic blast. And just like other humongous Kemono, be extra careful when it switches to Rage mode. Lastly, remember it has the Wind attribute, so prioritise Fire based weapons that do slashing damage, as you have observed, how much damage they cause.
