By the time Act Two of Silksong comes around, exploration begins to get more difficult. Shakra, the regular cartographer of past zones, begins to appear less often, and maps instead become sold directly through hidden mechanisms that pepper Pharloom. The Whispering Vaults is one of these places, and finding its map early will make it much easier to find your way through its puzzles and hidden pathways.
Where to Get the Whispering Vaults Map
You can obtain the map shortly after crossing the rotating wheel bridge that links the Cogwork Core and the Choral Chambers. You’ll access the first chamber of the Whispering Vaults from there, which immediately traps you in a multi-enemy fight. Defeat the enemies to unlock the way forward.
Keep going until you encounter a solitary, hulking enemy that is a gatekeeper. Once you defeat it, you’ll see an iron pole ladder at the far end of the room. Attack it so that it falls into place, and you can ascend.
This ladder leads into an attic-like chamber perched above the Vaults, also connected to the Songclave in the Choral Chambers. To scale into the attic, Hornet must use her Cling Grip wall-jump ability, so be sure you’ve unlocked that skill before venturing here.
Buying the Map
In the attic, head left till you’re at its far end. A mechanism here will allow you to purchase the Whispering Vaults Map for 70 Rosaries.
With the map in hand, you’ll gain clearer access to one of Silksong’s most secretive regions. The Whispering Vaults connects to multiple areas, including the Choral Chambers and the Underworks, and holds valuable rewards like Pale Oil, which is essential for completing the Pinmaster’s Oil quest.
