The Gauss Rifle in Stalker 2:Heart of Chornobyl is one of the most powerful and sought-after weapons in the game, known for its precision and high damage output. However, acquiring it isn’t easy. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about finding, using, and mastering the Gauss Rifle, including its stats in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Gauss Rifle Location in Stalker 2

  • The earliest chance to find a Gauss Rifle is after reaching Yaniv Station during The Boundary quest. Once you speak to the station guard, Monolith Soldiers will spawn nearby. Only one random soldier in the group will have the Gauss Rifle, so take them all down and loot their bodies. If you don’t find it, reload a previous save and try again.
  • To unlock the Gauss Rifle head to the Prometheus Movie Theater in Pripyat, where a Gauss Rifle rests on a table inside. When you arrive, you will notice that the door is locked. Toss a grenade at the door to open it and you will find the Gauss Rifle inside. You will likely visit these locations while doing quests for Strelok or deciding to confront him in a later mission.
  • You can also get the Gauss Rifle as a drop from Monolith Soldiers, but these encounters happen late in the game. Monolith Soldiers typically appear beyond the Red Forest, passing through Yaniv and further.

How to Use Gauss Rifle in Stalker 2

Unlike regular guns, the Gauss Rifler runs on batteries. You can also upgrade its magazine capacity from 10 to 20 rounds with the High Capacity Gauss Magazine attachment. However, it’s not ideal for close combat. It’s designed for precision, making it perfect for headshots and one-shot kills. A unique feature is the side meter that displays the bullet range when fired. The Gauss Rifle comes in two versions:

  • Gauss Rifle with a scope for long-range shots
  • Gauss Rifle without scope for mid-range
