In the Gaul Side Story Quest 2 of Monster Hunter Stories 3, you’ll help locate a missing villager who vanished during a hunt. Join the search to track the Felyne search party, explore perilous forests and icy caves, face a Tetranadon, and rescue the villager. Completing this quest unlocks new weapons, combos, and rewards.
Going to Kol’s Residence & Finding Out About the Lost Villager
To start the quest, you’ll need to go to the marked location in Sheparden; this is where you’ll receive a request from Kol, which Manny delivers. Your next stop is Kol’s Residence.
Once you reach Master Kol’s residence, go inside and talk with him. Kol will inform you that a villager has gone missing. He had gone hunting a couple of days ago and never came back. The Felyne search party has tried searching for him, but they’ve had no luck so far. You’ll be tasked with finding the lost villager, for which you’ll need to track down the Felyne search party first.
You can start by going to the Catavan Stand in Canalta Timberlands. There, you’ll find the search party captain near the edge who will tell you that, according to rumors, the villager went to hunt a meownste. The villager was in a frenzy and wanted to slay Yian Garuga in the skies above Canalta Timberland. What you’ll need to do is go to the highest point in the area, which is surrounded by huge, rocky mountains.
Finding the Lost Villager
Go to the Catavan Stand in Howlinyowl Forest and try to spot a Yian Garuga by climbing the highest point from there. You’ll need to go northeast and eventually reach the Catavan Stand in Mt. Canalta. You’ll find the missing villager’s belongings near the edge, which suggests that he might have fallen.
Your next task is to go down, and inspect the area to find the villager. Go underground and you’ll find a sort of icy cave that leads you to the missing villager. Just keep going straight, then turn left at the first fork. You’ll come across some of the villager’s belongings which will lead you to the lost villager being attacked by a Tetranadon.
Your goal is simple: you just need to beat the Tetranadon to save the villager. Once Tetranadon is defeated, a small cutscene will play, where Gaul will ask Manny and Milly to take the villager back.
Completing the quest offers you rewards such as Gaul Legia Developed, Gaul New Weapon Bow, and Key to Combos.
