As declared yesterday, the Fortnite servers are down in preparation for the v26.10 update. The first step of taking the servers down is to disable the matchmaking. So, if you are getting any matchmaking errors while trying to play the game, it’s planned and you are not alone. Soon after the matchmaking is disabled worldwide, the servers will go down. Fortnite took to Twitter to declare that they have initiated the update process and the servers will go down soon.
The downtime is expected to start today at 4 AM ET (September 12, 2023). This is the first major update since the launch of Chapter 4 Season 4 a few weeks back. There is already a lot of speculation on what to expect with the update such as a collab with Mortal Combat 1, which is set to release in a few days, and the arrival of Sub Zero Outfit, among several other things.
