Sea of Thieves is one of the most popular pirates and open-world games available. It has steadily grown in popularity since its release, and it does not appear to be slowing down in 2021. Many new players are attempting to enter the fray, but their efforts may be cut short. Many people report errors such as crashes, inability to launch, infinite loading, and other issues.
This is understandable and reasonable. It occurs in all games, including Sea of Thieves. However, some players are still experiencing service outages.
What is “Services are Temporarily Unavailable Error”
In general, these errors are caused by a breakdown in communication between the client side (your computer) and the game’s servers. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do but wait — if it’s a server-side issue or scheduled maintenance, you’ll just have to wait until they come back online.
However, there are times when you have a few more options. For example, logging out and then back into your Microsoft account may be sufficient to restore order, especially if you recently changed your password. You can also try re-downloading the game on your Xbox or PC to ensure you have the most recent version, as the game will encounter problems if the client is running an older version of the game than the servers.
If everything is fine with the Sea of Thieves servers, you may be having connection problems. However, determining the precise source is difficult.
Common causes include using a wireless connection instead of an ethernet connection, not flushing DNS, and other similar issues.
Flush DNS
You can flush your DNS if you’re playing on a PC. Sometimes your DNS will cause problems and prevent the game from accessing the network.
This is easily remedied by launching the command prompt as an administrator. After that, type “ipconfig/flushdns” into the command line.
Restart/Reset Router
Although it may not appear so, resetting your router has a significant impact on many things. For one thing, it resets your intrusion prevention system, which could be the root cause of a service unavailable error.
Many will be different depending on the model. However, your router should have a reset button. Find it, click it, and then restart Sea of Thieves.
If none of the methods listed above resolved your connection problem, you should consider contacting Sea of Thieves’ official support.
