Overwatch 2 is out. This new installment is very well-polished and features an impressive package. Players love its core gameplay and characters. Regrettably, since its release, this game has had many problems including crashes, the game not starting, or won’t launch. Many of the issues have already been acknowledged by Blizzard and they are working hard to fix them. However, a new issue has come up where players are experiencing an error that reads – “Error starting game, trying again”. If you are also facing the same issue, let’s find out what is the reason behind this error and how you can fix it.
How to Fix Overwatch 2 Error starting the game, trying again Issue
You should note that the “Error starting game, trying again” error is not new in OW 2 as it was appearing in Overwatch 1 as well and now it has returned in this latest installment.
According to several reports, it has been noticed that this particular error affects only gamers from a particular region and so the issue is from the servers of Blizzard and NOT from your side. So, nothing to worry about, the issue will be resolved as early as possible.
Meanwhile, one of the customer support persons from Blizzard Entertainment has suggested simply restarting the game and the issue should be fixed.
If that doesn’t work, try connecting to a different region and check if the issue persists. You can also try to use a VPN service to do that. Conversely, if you are already using a VPN service to play the game, try to turn it off temporarily while playing Overwatch 2 and it should fix the problem.
That’s all we have at the moment on how to fix Overwatch 2 “error starting game, trying again” issue. The developers had resolved this issue quickly in Overwatch 1 so hopefully they will take actions quickly for OW 2 as well.
