Modern Warfare 2 campaign was no doubt the standard of the campaign we have come to expect from COD games over the years, but it’s also one of the buggiest as many players were unable to progress the game due to bugs on the Veteran difficulty. A new patch last night seems to have made the situation worse for console players, as they cannot access the campaign. If you are getting the Modern Warfare 2 dev error 614, there are some things you can do to fix the error. Keep reading to find out.
Modern Warfare 2 Dev Error 614 on Consoles
One of the first things you need to do when you are crashing while loading or during a mission is to reduce the difficulty. Anything above the regular difficulty makes the game buggy and likely to crash more. So, attempt to play the game at Recruit or Regular difficulty if you get the dev error 614 or the game crashes without any error.
If the error started yesterday with the new update, PS5 players can try a fix suggested by the Reddit user breakxr. Click on the Settings button, then head over to the settings tab and select any settings subcategory. Once you are in, click on the circle button on the controller to exit settings. This brought users to the campaign mission they were in before the update.
These two are the only reliable fixes to resolve the error at the time of writing. However, we will keep an eye on the MW2 Twitter and other sources to update the article with an ETA on a patch or add new fixes when they become available.
