God of War is one of the best PC ports, but that does not mean there are no problems. Besides the not enough memory error, the God of War DirectX Feature Level 11.1 Required error has plagued the community. While the error is quite easy to fix, you need to have a graphics card that supports the DirectX feature level 11.1. If your GPU does not support the feature level, sadly there is no fix that is going to work other than replacing the GPU. But, if your GPU supports the feature level and you still get the error, here is what you need to do.
God of War DirectX Feature Level 11.1 Required | D3D Error Fix
The first method we are going to try to fix the error is to download a file from GitHub that has a bunch of .DLL files that you need to place in the game folder. Once you place these files in the game folder the game should work without any issues. Here are the steps you need to follow.
- Download the DXVK from GitHub.
- Extract the files and you should be able to see three folders – x32, x64, and setup.
- Open the x64 folder and copy everything
- Now, go to your God of War install folder and paste the files next to the God of War executable.
- Attempt to launch the game and it should run.
The fix for the problem is as simple as that, but if the above fix did not work there are a few other things you can try to resolve the God of War D3D error – DirectX Feature Level 11.1 Required.
- Verify integrity of game files
- Install the latest DirectX software
- Update GPU driver
- Update the operating system
We hope that the above solution has helped you fix the God of War DirectX error on your PC. If you have a solution that worked for you, please share them in the comments.
The DXVK from GitHub fix worked out but the game is running too slow and lagging.
