The Echo of Varshan is a new endgame boss introduced in Diablo 4 Season 2. Summoning him is essential, as he drops several unique items that can enhance your endgame builds. To summon Varshan, players need to collect rare materials and sacrifice them at an altar; most will need to do this multiple times to get the item they want. You can find the Echo of Varshan boss fight inside the Malignant Burrow. This dungeon is easy to locate since it’s right next to the Tree of Whispers in the Writhing Mire area of Hawezar. Malignant Heart
To summon the Echo of Varshan, you’ll need a Malignant Heart.
- You can find Malignant Hearts by opening the cache you get for completing Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers in any of the new Torment difficulties.
- Another way to get them is by defeating Grotesque Debtors, which may spawn after you finish Whispers of the Dead quests in the open world.
- You can also earn Malignant Hearts by taking down Elite monsters and World bosses, as well as from the new Undercity of Kurast dungeon and by trading with your Mercenaries.
- Players can also obtain Boss Summoning Materials from Helltide Chests, completing Infernal Horde runs, and at the end of Nightmare Dungeons.
How to summon the Echo of Varshan in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred
To summon Varshan, players need to be in World Tier 3 or 4 and have Malignant Hearts. For a standard summon, you’ll need 2 Malignant Hearts in World Tier 3 and 5 in World Tier 4. For a Tormented summon, you’ll need three times that amount, along with a Stygian Stone.
You can only find and summon the Echo of Varshan while playing on any of the new Torment difficulties introduced in the Vessel of Hatred expansion. To do this, you’ll need to reach level 60 and complete a Tier 20 run of the Pit. Keep in mind that higher Torment difficulties will make the fight tougher, as he’ll have more health and deal more damage, while your character will face penalties to armor and resistances.
However, defeating him on these higher difficulties will be more rewarding, with a better chance of Unique items and Mythics dropping. Remember that you can use the new party finder to create and join groups with other players. This way, you can share materials in a rotation, making the process more efficient and rewarding.
Rewards
The Echo of Varshan drops several Unique Items and a cosmetic from his set Boss Loot Table. If you’re looking to farm a specific Unique, you can take on either the standard or Tormented version of Varshan. However, if you’re after Mythic Uniques, it’s best to summon Tormented Varshan for the highest chance of getting them.
