Dragon Ball Sparking Zero lets you see what would happen if characters made different choices or defeated their enemies more easily. The first story you’ll probably play is Goku’s, as he’s the first character you can control. Goku’s stories are the most interesting in the game, so here’s how to start them. If you make the level of the game easier, you won’t be able to unlock special stories. But if you’re having trouble, you can use a Dragon Orb to make the secondary objective requirement of the what-ifs story easier to complete.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO Goku Branching Paths
In the story mode of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, you can take three optional paths to unlock the different branching paths.

Pushing the Limit
To find Goku’s first story in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, you must choose to team up with Piccolo in the first chapter. Then, you must defeat Raditz as quickly as possible in the next mission. If you do this, you’ll unlock a unique story arc called “Pushing The Limit,” where you’ll see Goku’s story. The branching story of Goku goes like this.
After learning that Vegeta and Nappa are coming to Earth, Goku tests his son, Gohan. Then, he helps his friends fight off Saibaman. Next, Goku battles Nappa, who is later killed by Vegeta. Goku then fights Vegeta, who turns into a Great Ape. Goku defeats Vegeta after transforming into a Super Saiyan.
Goku and his friends go to Planet Namek to find the Dragon Balls. They encounter Frieza’s forces and defeat them. Vegeta returns as a Super Saiyan and reveals he has already defeated Frieza. Goku, as a Super Saiyan, must defeat Vegeta to end this story.
Side by Side
To find Goku’s second story, you need to choose to fight alone in the first mission. Then, you must defeat Raditz within a certain amount of time. If you do this, you’ll unlock the rest of the story.
“Side by Side” is a different story that changes the outcome for everyone when Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta come to Earth. It also shows a different way that Frieza is defeated. Here’s how to play through this story.
To start this story, you must defeat Raditz before Krillen can help. Then, you and your friends train for the arrival of the other Saiyans. Piccolo offers to train Gohan. You must choose someone to fight, and then defeat Nappa. Vegeta will kill Nappa after losing to Goku. You must fight Vegeta and survive his transformation into a Great Ape. You must defeat Vegeta again, but Piccolo accidentally kills Goku.
Frieza’s forces arrive, and you must defeat Dodoria and Zarbon. Then, you must defeat the entire Ginyu Force in one battle. Frieza arrives and sends Captain Ginyu away. Vegeta chases him, and when he returns, he is revealed to be Ginyu in his body. You must fight Vegeta and defeat him. You must fight Frieza in his first form, and then his second and third forms. Vegeta helps Goku by forcing him to rest, and then Goku uses a Spirit Bomb to defeat Frieza, ending this story.
The Changing Future
The last alternative story about Goku is called “The Changing Future” and it’s in the Android/Cell Arc. In the mission “Hyperbolic Time Chamber,” you can choose to help Piccolo fight Cell or let him train alone. If you choose to help Piccolo, you’ll unlock the “The Changing Future” story.
In this story, Goku arrives to save Piccolo’s life from Cell. You must defeat Cell to continue. If you lose, you’ll be sent back to the main story. After defeating Cell, you must defeat Androids 18 and 17. Android 16 will then fight Goku. You must defeat Android 16 to end this story.
