Through the Shadows quest is a side mission in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. In this quest, you’ll need to solve the Barrier puzzle and power up the console. This guide will provide you with all the steps to solve the Barrier Puzzle in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Barrier Puzzle Solution in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
To solve the Barrier Puzzle in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you’ll need to find a Powercrystal and then correctly align the five Beam Generators to the appropriate Energy nodes.
Find the Beam Generators
When you get to the Lower Chamber section in the Through the Shadows quest, you’ll see that most of the Beam Generators are pointing in various directions. It’s your job to adjust them so that their beams hit the nodes across the way. But first, you need to locate the Powercrystal to activate the first Beam Generator.
Beam Generator 1
Go west, take the stairs, and turn right to find the Power Crystal next to a treasure chest. Then head back down the stairs and place it on the pedestal. This will activate the Beam Generator, allowing you to start aligning it with the correct Energy Nodes. Begin by adjusting this Beam Generator to face the energy node in the western part of the room, located between and above the statues.
Beam Generator 2
From the first Beam Generator, head up the stairs to your right, then turn left to find the second one. This Beam Generator doesn’t need a Powercrystal since it’s already active. Interact with it and direct the beam toward the device in front of you, near the barrier. The quest marker will show this Energy Node is at a distance of 45 meters.
Beam Generator 3
The third beam generator is located in the rafters. From where you interacted with the second one, turn left toward the corner of the room, and you’ll see a ladder. Climb the ladder to reach the third Beam Generator. Adjust the beam to connect it to the node, which is the second from the left. The quest marker will indicate this Energy Node is at 38 meters away.
Beam Generator 4
From the third Beam Generator, turn right and jump across the broken platform to reach the fourth generator. The corresponding Energy Node is the second from the right, located 40 meters away.
Beam Generator 5
Follow the same steps as before and then head down the stairs to your right. You’ll find the fifth Beam Generator that you need to align. This one connects to the Energy Node at a distance of 30 meters. Once that’s done, head back to the first Beam Generator and adjust it to point at the last Energy Node on its right. This will complete the Barrier Puzzle.
