The quest name — “Obtain the Acceleron from Spoil to reveal mission Saturnism” — is a nod towards one specific enemy battle within the Overthrow public activity in the Pale Heart location. While it might appear to be vague, the activity is comprised of the defeat of an high-ranking enemy The Blooming Spoil, and killing it drops the Acceleron.
This is both a gameplay problem and an introduction to the story, revealing deeper in the story by way of the Saturnism mission.
Step-by-Step Guide to Getting the Acceleron
1. Proceed to the Pale Heart
Begin by proceeding to the Pale Heart, the new patrol zone introduced with The Final Shape. The area contains several sub-areas, including The Blooming, The Landing, and The Seclusion. Any of them can serve as a site for the Overthrow activity, but The Blooming is typically the best place for this task.
2. Start the Overthrow Activity
Play through the Overthrow activity in your chosen zone. Overthrow is a multi-tiered event that gets progressively tougher, culminating in the activation of mini-bosses and powerful enemies.
The activity is activated by killing enemies and completing objectives within the zone. With the completion of Tier 1 and Tier 2, a boss fight will be activated in Tier 3.
3. Look for The Blooming Spoil
In Tier 3 of Overthrow, a special enemy named The Blooming Spoil will make an appearance. This is the one required to drop the Acceleron. It is a named, single boss enemy and typically appears on the final wave of Tier 3, typically summoned by several powerful ads (additional enemies).
Make sure to communicate with the other players nearby to burn the boss as fast as possible before time runs out or the fight resets.
4. Kill the Spoil and Collect the Acceleron
When you kill The Blooming Spoil, it will drop the Acceleron. It is a quest reward and will automatically be placed in your inventory or tracked progress. If you are in a fireteam, each player has to be close so that they are all credited for it.
In case you do not get the drop, be sure to inspect your quest log or that you were in when the boss was killed.
Unlocking the Saturnism Mission
After obtaining the Acceleron, the questline will update so that you can proceed to the subsequent story mission: Saturnism. It will arrive either as a new icon in the Pale Heart or be opened from the Invocation quest menu.
