Title Update 1.1.6 adds a short new side quest called A Puzzlement, where Naoe and Yasuke team up with Kinu and Kane to figure out a set of odd glyphs carved around a sealed door in Wakasa. The quest is pretty straightforward, but it does set up a follow-up mission, so here’s how to get it started and what to do.

How to Start the A Puzzlement Quest

You’ll see this quest only if Yasuke is unlocked and you’ve updated the game to 1.1.6.

  • Head south in the area of the Wakasa region.
  • The quest marker is situated just north of Hanazono Castle.
  • Speak with Kinu and Kane standing near the strange sealed door once you reach it. After the dialogue, select any response- it officially starts the quest.
  • If the quest isn’t tracking automatically, open the Objective Board and select it under People of Wakasa.

Walkthrough

1. Investigate the Strange Glyphs

Immediately after starting the quest, you’ll be given the Riddle Scroll Beacon, a small trinket which will allow tracking of the hidden glyphs.

  • Open the inventory, go to Trinkets, and equip it.
  • Follow the objective marker to the east.
  • The beacon blinks faster as you get closer to the spot.
  • Take advantage of the blinking rhythm to zero in on the spot.
  • The Glyph of the Vault is sitting by the lake in the area.
  • Once you have used it, you’re finished with this section.

2. Head back to Kinu and Kane

Go back to the two of them and talk to them once more. Following a short conversation about the door and what the glyph signifies, the quest completes itself. Finishing A Puzzlement automatically triggers the next quest in this minor storyline: Teach a Dog New Kicks.
