Tarot Cards are an important part of Cult of Lamb mechanics like so many other roguelike games. The cards are drawn at random and you often have the choice of choosing one of two. You will get most of the Tarot cards in the game from Clauneck. You will meet him very early in the game. In fact, he may be the first NPC you come across. Sometimes the Tarot cards are also drawn at random without an option to choose or deny.
I got the Diseased Heart tarot card without ever drawing it. When you follow paths that have a little heart exchange item icon, you get a random card drawn for you in exchange for a heart slot if you follow that path. check the below image.
There are also paths such as the question mark, there you may get the option to either choose a heart or a tarot card. The temple with the blue water and red door can also reward you with tarot cards. The game has so many ways of awarding you tarot cards. But knowing all the cards in advance may help you plan your style of play. So, keep reading and this is all the cards we know so far.
This guide is a work-in-progress and more card as being added as we find them.
Cult of the Lamb All Tarot Cards Explained
At the moment, this is not the complete list of tarot cards in Cult of the Lamb, but we are adding more cards as you read so you will find a few new cards the next time you visit. Having said that, there are pretty much all the cards you will find at the beginning stages of the game.
The Arachnid
The Arachnid is the best card we have come across in the game so far. The name itself says a lot about the card. The in-game description of the card is “Deals poison damage to enemies you strike.” If we were to create a tier list of Cult of the Lamb cards, The Arachnid would be in the S tier. With this card drawn, you can hit an enemy and they will take poison damage over time. This card can be particularly useful when dealing with a boss.
Diseased Heart
The Diseased Heart is also a very good card as it supports health and is stackable. When enemies strike, they take damage. You get an additional heart that is black as you can see in the below image and when an enemy strikes you, half of the black heart will go away and enemies will take damage.
Devine Strength
If you are someone that likes to play fast and mow through areas quickly, this is a great card. The in-game description of the card is, “Attack rate is increased by 1.25%.” if you like to spam the attack button, then this card is going to serve you well.
The Lovers 1
This is another card that increases your health bar or the number of hearts that you have. With so much fighting, you would want to increase your health bar as much as possible. The in-game description of the tarot card reads, “Gain an extra soul heart.” The Soul heath appears as Greenheart on the HUD. This card has a better tier that rewards more hearts.
The Hearts 1
In the early stages of the game and the first card for many will be The Heart 1. The thing to note here is the 1, which indicates there are better tiers of this card. Weapons have a higher tier and the same can be expected with this card. The Heart 1 on the other hand provides only half a heart, but it does increase your health bar or heart count, so it’s good. The in-game description of the card reads, “Gain an extra half heart.”
Master of the Art
Again a strength card, the Master of the Art is great for people who want to move through the game fast as it deals more damage to enemies. The in-game description of the card is, “Overall weapon damage increased by 1.2%.”
Rabbit’s Foot
The Rabbit’s Foot is a luck card as it boosts the chances of finding better loot in the game. When looking to farm Gold Coins, blueprints, weapons, and other resources this card can be invaluable. The in-game description of the card reads, “Increases the chance to spawn better chests.” Better chests will have better loot and blueprints. This is a great card to progress faster in the game.
True Sight
Also a good card, but not to be confused with a weapon swing and hit. You may deal a critical hit one in ten times that you swing. The in-game description of the card is “10% chance to deal a critical hit every time you swing.” So, it counts the swings even when you are not hitting an enemy. Another card that’s great for players who like to spam the hit button.
Fortune’s Blessing
When involved in so much fighting you can take a lot of damage and having a card that supports healing is always good to have. The in-game description of the card is, “You receive double health when healing.”
Death’s Door
The in-game description of the card is, “When you are hit down to half a heart, every enemy will be dealt 2x damage.” This is a great card that ensures you clear the arena when you are hanging by the last life. The great thing about this card is that the effects last and it’s not one time. If you gain health and later go back again to half a heart, the same effect will take on and you will deal 2x damage.
Devine Curse
While the Devine Curse is a good card, I personally do not care much for it. The in-game description of the card is, “Curses consume 25% less Fervour.” With so many ways to farm Fervour in Cult of the Lamb, it does not make much sense to choose this card unless there is no better option.
Telescope
The in-game description of the Telescope card is, “Reveal the map.” Knowing the map will allow you to travel to areas that you would otherwise miss and not get the loot, but besides that, there is not much use for the card. Unless you have something really good to choose from, the Telescope is a decent card and might prove a lot useful as you progress in the game.
Fervour’s Harvest
Fervour is the ammunition for your curses so it makes sense that there are multiple cards that revolve around that game mechanics. Having said that, the curses take time to fire and you cannot do them in tight situations. Also, I have had no issue getting enough Fervors for my curses. If you use the curses a lot this card can make sense for you. The in-game description is, “Enemies will drop double Fervour.”
Gift from Below
Gift from Below is again a health card that allows you “A 10% chance of gaining a soul heart when slaying an enemy.” The Soul heart is Blue and appears green on the HUD when you are playing. When you take damage these hearts go the first. All in all, it’s a great card as it increases the amount of health you have or the heart. They function the same as the Red heart but the drop rate is far lower.
Shield of Faith
To be frank, this is not a really good card and any card is better than this from what we have seen so far. The card negates the damage you take and you won’t lose half a heart, but that’s 1 in 10 times. So, if you get hit 10 times, you have a chance of negating 1 damage. The in-game description of the card is, “When attacked 10% chance of negating damage.”
There are all the Tarot Cards in Cult of the Lamb that we know of. We will update the post as we find more cards and watch out for our Cult of the Lamb Tarot Card tier list that should be up in a few days.
