Necropolis Halls Bell Puzzle

The Necropolis Halls in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are full of hidden treasure chests, but finding them isn’t easy. You have to solve puzzles to unlock them. One of these puzzles is the Necropolis Bell puzzle. To solve it, you need to ring five bells in a specific order. If you can figure out the right sequence, you’ll be rewarded with valuable loot.

To find this area, you need to complete the “Walking the Graves” side quest given by Emmrich. Once you’ve finished the quest, explore the western side of the area. There, you’ll find a locked door with a bell nearby. To unlock the door, you need to ring the bell a specific number of times.

The correct sequence is carved into a door in The Memorial Gardens. After ringing a bell, you’ll notice a symbol lighting up on the door frame and the bell’s pole. To find the next bell, follow the glowing wisp. It will lead you directly to the next bell you need to ring. Before ringing the bell, double-check the symbol on it to make sure it’s the correct one. If you ring the wrong bell, you’ll have to start the puzzle over again.

First Bell Location

To find the first bell, fast travel to the southeastern Teleportation Beacon in The Memorial Gardens. Head northwest towards the sealed door. Use Emmrich’s skill to activate the bell next to it.

Second Bell Location

From the previous bell, head towards the northwestern stairs. Use Emmrich’s skill or Solas’ Lyrium Dagger to activate the second bell.

Third Bell Location

Go back down the stairs and head northeast. Take a right turn. You’ll find the third bell hidden between a bush and some gravestones. Use Solas’ Lyrium Dagger or Emmrich’s Placate Mischief to ring it.

Fourth Bell Location

Walk down the southeastern path. At the end of the road, you’ll find the fourth bell. Check the symbol on the lower stone, then ring the bell.

Fifth Bell Location

From the previous bell, turn right and walk towards the stairs. Climb the stairs and turn left. Activate the fifth and final bell in the Necropolis Halls.

Once you’ve rung all the bells in the correct order, Rook will let you know that a door has been unlocked. Go through the newly opened door and collect the treasure chest and other valuable items inside.
