Throughout Pharloom, there are sometimes locked doors with a large padlock on them. The key is in the name — they employ Simple Keys. Although not required to finish the game, they reveal shortcuts, treasure rooms, and even questlines. For completionists or just those who don’t like an open door, they’re worth it.

There are four Simple Keys in Silksong. Here’s where they are located, and where you can use each of them.

All Simple Key Locations

Bone Bottom (Buy from Pebb)

The easiest way to get your first key is to buy it from Pebb at Bone Bottom. It will cost you 500 Rosaries, which is pricey early on, so you may have to farm Rosaries or crack open rosary strings.

Sinner’s Road (Tower Challenge)

Climb the top-right tower in Sinner’s Road, where a tough enemy keeps you from a Simple Key. To even be able to reach there, you’ll have to face a tough platforming sequence.

Sands of Karak (Corpse Bench)

It’s far down toward the end of the game, on the body in the single bench in the top-right of Sands of Karak. Head through the Grand Gate and north for the shortcut.

Songclave (Buy from Jubilana)

The last key can be bought from Jubilana, who is located close to the Wishwell. It costs 650 Rosaries, which is the highest priced in the game.

Where to Use Simple Keys

Bone Bottom – Chapel of the Wanderer shortcut

Opens up a route through the Wormways to the Chapel where the Wanderer Crest can be found. Accessible by the Silksong Dash only. From the elevator in Mosshome to Bone Bottom, go left, through the suspended cages, and the locked door is at the far end.

Deep Docks – Shortcut to Far Fields

Opens the shortcut and allows access to Flintslate, an item that allows Hornet to charge her Needle with flames. Begin at the Deep Docks bench near the Forge Daughter, ride down the switch platforms, and dash right across the fire to the locked door.

Sinner’s Road – Green Prince Questline

Opens the cell where the Green Prince resides, starting his questline. Conveniently, it’s right below the tower where you get the key for this area.

High Halls – Rosary Vault

Opens a large treasure room filled with saws, traps, and enemies. There are three rosary chests inside, one of them containing a Pale Rosary Necklace. Be sure to grab the rosary strings from the ceiling, then break a pretend wall at the bottom left to release the Rosary Cannon.
