One of the most rare upgrade items in Valor Mortis is the Quintessential Transmutation Material. It is used for upgrading Transmutation spells to Level 5. This will make them even more effective in battles. The difference between it and other upgrade items is that you cannot get it by defeating monsters. There are only three Quintessential Transmutation Materials to find in the game, and this guide will help you locate all of them.
All Quintessential Transmutation Materials
Quintessential Transmutation Material is an extremely rare material used in Valor Mortis in order to level any of the Transmutation spells of the game up to Level 5 at the Laboratoire belonging to Louis in the Abandoned Church. Quintessential Transmutation Materials can neither be farmed nor dropped from common enemies.
Material #1
Make your way from the Fortress Lantern towards Traverse and ignite the two signal fires in order to gain entry through the gates. Once you have passed through the gates, take a look to your left, where the item lies in a chest.
Material #2
Go back from the Main Hall Lantern to the last area where there was the elevator. Go through the hallway, which is full of poison and take the elevator. Go down with the elevator to open a path that will lead you back to the Lantern, then go up to access a new area. There, you should go to the balcony to get the material.
Material #3
You’ll receive a Quintessential Transmutation Material and The Book of Beasts as rewards for completing the Monster Hunt side quest. In order to start the quest, you should go to Tribunal Square located in the City of Orphans, and there you can find a drawing pinned to a tree next to the lamppost on your right. Pick up the drawing of a Lancer to begin the Monster Hunt quest.
