In Borderlands 4, the Furious Earth world event takes you to Providence Island, where the objective is to clear four scalding geysers. For this mission, two geysers are located in Pyroclast Field, and the other two are in the Vinechoked Canopy. Each location unlocks after you finish the previous one. Here’s where to find every geyser and how to complete each encounter.

How the Geyser Hunt Works

Before starting, choose The Furious Earth in the game map. An orange diamond will appear on the map indicating the location you have to follow. The marker moves on to the next vent once the encounter is over.

The first two encounters will take you to Pyroclast Field while the last two will introduce you to Vinechoked Canopy. Since Pyroclast Field’s second location requires a longer journey, you may want to use a vehicle in order to get there faster.

Scalding Geyser Locations

Pyroclast Field

The event takes off at a geyser in Pyroclast Field. Check The Furious Earth on the Providence Island map and ride your way to the first marked vent. This geyser is the closest to the starting point of the objective.

After clearing it, check the map once again for another marker. The second geyser in Pyroclast Field is much further down in the area, so it would be a good idea to use the vehicle for the drive. Follow the waypoint until you reach the next geyser.

Vinechoked Canopy

Upon completing both the geysers in Pyroclast Field, players will come across Vinechoked Canopy. The completion of the second geyser also signifies the appearance of the third geyser location marker on the map. Players will need to navigate across the map to search for the new orange diamond waypoint.

Similarly, the fourth geyser is located in Vinechoked Canopy as well. After the third geyser has been found, players will have to check their maps again to see the fourth geyser marker and get to its location.

What Happens When You Reach a Vent

It isn’t possible to turn on geysers by doing something. As soon as you enter the designated area, a battle begins and Clear Geyser becomes the new objective.

The attackers come from the vents, and Volcanus beasts are also among the enemies. Remember, the monsters can move away from the geyser once they spawn, so don’t relax just because the vent area looks deserted.

Defeat the enemies around the objective and the geyser will register as cleared. The objective then advances and the next orange marker becomes available.

Why a Geyser May Still Be Active

In case the Clear Geyser objective is active, check the surroundings for enemies that you may have left behind. A Volcanus can position itself right behind you or underneath a close ledge and keep the goal alive even when the geyser seems to be clear.

If the waypoint disappears, check that The Furious Earth is still selected on the map of Providence Island. Also, do not leave the geyser area before defeating all enemies. If you do, go back to the marker and eliminate any remaining enemies.

Note: The petrified geyser in Coastal Bonescape is part of Hangover Helper and uses different mechanics, including a ground slam and grapple. The Furious Earth geysers are combat encounters and have no connection to that objective.
