So, it’s always a good idea to keep some Timber stocked up. It’s one of the easiest materials to gather once you know where to look.
How To Get Timber

You should complete the first biome and kill the boss of this biome. After you do this, you will be able to go to the second biome. Next, move to the southern part of the map. Here, you have a good chance to find the tree which drops Timber. It looks different from the usual trees, so keep an eye out while exploring.
Timber is an essential resource in this game, as it is used to create ships. With time, you will be using this resource more often while crafting some items. It can be crafted in the Workbench. However, you need to reach level 3 of the Workbench first in order to craft it.
How To Use Timber

Unlocking Timber is very easy, as you only have to unlock Hardwood. Unlock Hardwood, and you will automatically be given access to many other things, including ship materials and fishing recipes. As for where to get Hardwood, head over to the Foothills biome. Find certain types of trees in the Foothills Biome to get Hardwood. Take this Hardwood back to your workbench and make it into Timber.
Timber isn’t just for shipbuilding, it’s also used in a few important crafting recipes. One of the main uses is making the Master Combat Repair Kit.
