Survival is just as important as stealth in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. To live up to the name of “Snake Eater,” you’ll need to hunt, forage, and taste nearly every edible creature and plant in the game.
48 separate foodstuffs are dispersed across Tselinoyarsk’s jungles, swamps, caves, and warfields. Eating all of them not only gives you the Gastronome trophy/achievement but also unlocks one of the game’s most powerful guns: the EZ Gun.
The surprise? Simply consuming food isn’t enough. You need to actually eat each of them for it to count in your Food Collection. That means planning ahead—especially if you’re also trying challenges like ending the game with a surviving Tsuchinoko.
Food Collection Overview
Food is divided into five main categories: Snakes, Land Animals, Water Animals, Mushrooms, and Other. Below you’ll find complete lists of every edible item in each group, along with where to find them.
Snake Locations (12 Total)
Snakes are the most iconic food items, and some of them—like the three rare “Snake” variants—only appear during the final battle. Don’t forget the elusive Tsuchinoko, which is required for a separate achievement.

Reward – The EZ Gun
Once you’ve captured and eaten all 48 unique foods, you’ll unlock the Gastronome trophy/achievement and receive the EZ Gun.
This legendary weapon usually only appears on Very Easy difficulty, but completing the collection makes it available on all modes. It’s a tranquillizer pistol with infinite ammo, completely silent shots, and a camo index boost—making it one of the strongest non-lethal options in the game.
