The XDefiant Timeout Errors Delte-06, Delta-07, Delte-08, and Delta-09 are all caused due to issues like packet loss and high ping. Regardless of the exact error that you get, the error message is always the same. “Timeout trying to join a game server.” If you are getting this error, there are a bunch of fixes you can try to ensure there is no packet loss and to reduce pings.
Fix XDefiant Timeout Errors Delte-06, Delta-07, Delte-08, and Delta-09
There are quite a lot of fixes and not all of them work for everyone. So, make sure to try all the solutions before reporting the issue to Ubisoft.
Check the Server Status
Whenever there is a connection issue with a game server, you should check the game servers first. If there is downtime or maintenance, you can skip hours of troubleshooting. As the game is new, there may be unreported issues with the server. Try to go to forums and if a lot of players are getting the error, it’s possibly an issue with the servers. Check the XDefiant server status here.
Set the IP Manually
This is a fix that has worked for me in countless games especially COD and should work in Xdefiant as well. The OS is supposed to get the IP automatically, but doing the below step really helps. Here is what you need to do.
- In the Windows Search, type CMD, and choose to Run as Administrator
- In the Command Prompt, type the below command and hit Enter
ipconfig /all
- Scroll to the section with the IPv4 address and other details. It should look like below.
- Copy the three addresses or have the CMD open
- In the Windows Search, type Control Panel and open it
- Go to Network & Internet > Network and Sharing Center > click on your Active Network as shown below
- Go to Properties in the new window
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties
- Toggle, Use the following IP address, and fill in the 3 fields with the info in the Command Prompt.
Flush DNS Cache
If the above fix did not work, the XDefiant timeout errors could be due to the cache in the DNS servers. The OS stores IP addresses instead of pulling it everytime from the DNS to speed up the connection, but sometimes this can be an issue leading to connectivity problems. Open the Command Prompt as admin and run each of the below commands one at a time. After pasting each command, hit Enter
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
Do Not Use a VPN
Timeout errors in many cases are due to packet loss and ping. A VPN may be the main cause if you are using it. Disable the VPN and check if the game works.
Disable IPv6
Most servers are design to work on internet protocol version 4, but if your PC is sending packets in version 6, that may be the cause of the problem. Here is how to disable the IPv6.
- In the Windows Search, type Control Panel and open it
- Click on Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center
- Click on your active networks next to Connections
- Go to Properties in the new Window
- uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
Change DNS Servers
The default DNS servers provided by the OS works great in most cases, but uses to switch to Cloudflare or Google have reported several connectivity problems resolved. Here is how to change the DNS servers.
- Press the Windows key + I to go to Settings
- Network & internet > Click on your current active Internet, generally Ethernet
- Find the DNS server assignment and click Edit next to it.
- Under Edit IP Settings, set it to Manual
- Toggle on IPv4 and set the Preferred DNS as 1.1.1.1 and Alternate DNS as 1.0.0.1
- Save and exit.
Update the GPU Driver
I know it’s weird, what has the GPU driver got to do with connectivity issues, but the solution works as I have seen in so many games. Update the GPU driver and see if that fixes the XDefiant Timeout Errors Delte-06, Delta-07, Delte-08, and Delta-09 for you. Get the latest driver from your manufacturer and perform a clean install.
Reinstall the Game
Finally, perform a clean install of the game. To perform a clean install, remove all files and folder of the game such as config files, install folders, etc. Follow the process to uninstall the game.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Uninstall XDefiant
- Press the Windows key + R and type temp, and hit Enter. Delete everything in the Temp File Folder. If something does not delete it because some files may be using them. Close all applications and delete the temp files. If they still do not delete, leave them and close the Window.
- Reboot the PC and download the free version of CCleaner. Open the application and go to the Registry tab. Click on Scan for Issues and then Review Selected Issue. Clean the registry a few times. Next, go to the Custom Clean tab and select everything except Passwords and a few things you may want to keep, click on Analyse, and then Run Cleaner.
Download XDefiant and hopefully, the Timeout Errors Delte-06, Delta-07, Delte-08, and Delta-09 are fixed.
That’s all for this guide, I hope I have helped you fix the errors and if it helped, please let me know in the comments. If I missed a solution, please share them in the comments as well. If you want to rant at me, also in the comments.
