The open-world action-adventure role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077 is a wild take on dystopia. While the initial release from the publishers’ CD Projekt is set to come out on 10th Dec, the open world free roam experience has gamers drooling for a multiplayer version as well.
In Cyberpunk 2077 the protagonist – V is a mercenary who takes on his wild rides in “Night” city, and as the name suggests, a city that oozes glamour, power, money, and all the vices you can think of.
The fans are excited and after the immense success of the Witcher Series, which contributes a chunk of money to the company’s revenue ($28 million in revenue generated in the last quarter). CD Projekt would hope to add Cyberpunk 2077 to its money book as well.
No Multiplayer With Cyberpunk 2077 Launch But…
CD Projekt, publishing head Michał Nowakowski announced earlier this year “2021 appears unlikely as the release date for Cyberpunk Multiplayer.”
But the multiplayer version will be available as a standalone post the original game’s release.
The publishers have voiced out its plans to initially focus on the single-player and its multiple free updates and paid DLC expansions for Cyberpunk’s single-player before shifting their complete focus on the multiplayer version, which might have its own AAA release as early as 2022.
Once the multiplayer launches, it should be available as a free download for anyone who pre owns the game.
Will There Be A Co-Op in Cyberpunk 2077 –
As for the local Co-Op, there has been no announcement as such. Surely, thinking about online co-op with friends sounds like a promising arena, with so much to explore in this dystopian open world. Games like GTA 5 can get some tough competition. But the loyal fans will have to wait for now.
Gamers do appreciate the fact that the publishers decided to focus solely on single-player before jumping on other wagons as this would not take anything away from the efforts and resources.
It’s safe to say that this game will be a real innovative step forward in terms of an open-world immersive experience. The official YouTube trailer for the video game which features the history of Night City and Johnny Silverhand garnered 10 million views in just one day!
Cyberpunk 2077 was set to release by September this year but got delayed. The game would now be available on 10th Dec for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
