Watch Dogs Legion – one of the most anticipated games this year and the first AAA title to hit Xbox One X is experiencing a game breaking bug. Early players who jumped to play the game are reporting of a bug that’s overheating the console and crashing the game. The problem is so widespread that the game is basically unplayable on the new console series. Ubisoft has acknowledged the issue and ensures a patch would come out sometime on 30th Oct that would effectively address the problem. Scroll down to know more about the issue and if there is something you can do about it.
Why is Watch Dogs: Legion Crashing on Xbox One X on (I kid you not – 404) Mission
If you have just purchased the game and started playing, you should not notice any problem, the game should progress normally. For players who encountered the problem, it started to occur with around 6-8 hours of play and during the “I Kid You Not – 404” mission.
During the mission, if you touch the Xbox One X console, you would feel it’s overheating and sure enough the game freezes at certain point and the console warns it’s going to shut down to prevent damage to the hardware.
Strangely enough, the problem only seems to hit the new console series, while the counterpart PS4 Pro has its own set of bugs, the Watch Dogs Legion crashing with overheating is not one of them. As mentioned earlier, the developers at Ubisoft are aware of the issue and have promised a hotfix on 30th. Here is what they said in an official Statement, “We’re aware of this issue and there will be a hot fix due to be released on 30th October which should help.”
