Dinkum is a life and farming sim game, which is created by the Australian indie developer James Bendon. The game is currently out on early access Steam, and is already a hit among the fans of Minecraft, Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. This guide will take you through the process of where to find Flake in Dinkum.
How to Get Flake in Dinkum
One of your characters might have requested Flake, or you might simply be curious about where to find it. As it turns out, you will need to hunt down a vicious predator to get some Flake.

Some of the items are named in an Australian convention, so they might appear strange to other players. Flake is shark meat, usually sold at a fish and chip shop in real-life Australia, battered and fried.
However, in Dinkum, this means that you will need to kill a shark to get Flake. If you haven’t come across them already, you can find them in the ocean and occasionally in rivers, when they get a little lost.
Sharks are quite dangerous, and their bite will take away a lot of health. But, they cannot attack you while you are on land. If you get a spear and poke them, they will lose health and you can defeat them easily.
They will try to run away when they have low health, so make sure that your last few hits are quick. For a more in-depth tutorial, check out our guide How to Kill a Shark in Dinkum.
Once you have killed the shark, it will drop about 3 Flake. You can pick them up by diving into the water as they have most probably fallen into the sea. If they are requested by an NPC, deliver it to them. You can also cook the shark meat and eat it, or sell it at a high price to John.
