With the release of Warzone Pacific, Verdansk is gone for good and a lot of new and exciting stuff is introduced to the game including the Caldera map set in the Pacific. All the old weapons are gone too and replaced with 40 new weapons to match Vanguard. Upon the launch of the game, there has been a range of issues particularly for console players with the texture glitch. Players on Xbox Series X have been the most affected as they are faced with multiple major issues including the Goldflake error and Warzone Pacific stuck at 60 FPS. Here is what you need to know about the issue.
120 Hz Not Working in Warzone Pacific – Feels like Playing 60 FPS
Through the range of issues with the game, we know that Warzone Pacific is not well optimized for the console, even more so for Xbox Series X|S users. But, if you didn’t notice the game may actually be running at 60 FPS when your monitor supports more. You can check this by going to the Xbox Settings and changing the FPS to 60 Hz. If you don’t see a difference in the gameplay, it’s likely the game is running at 60 FPS by default.
It may not be apparent for all players, but if you feel like the game is lagging or slow, it’s likely because of the FPS cap currently on the game. We cannot confirm at this time if this is a widespread issue or a bug only affecting a select player base, but some users are affected and they are not happy about it. Users are threatening Raven with abandoning the game for the obvious alternative – Halo Infinite. Fortunately, PS5 players do not have the problem. We have been playing on the PS5 all morning and there seems to be no issue with the game being locked at 60 or below FPS.
If you have encountered the same or similar issue, let us and the devs know in the comments. So, far there has been no acknowledgment of the issue on either Twitter or the Trello board of Warzone.
Although not a guaranteed fix, we suggest that you disable the On-demand texture streaming and see if that changes anything. We were the first to suggest this fix for the texture issue and it worked for a lot of players. To disable the on-demand texture streaming in Warzone, go to Settings > Graphics tab > at the bottom you will find the option to disable.
We will keep an eye on the situation and update the post when new information becomes available to use.
I play on a Xbox series S and the game looks horrible….garbage. The graphics take a while to refresh/load on my screen. I’m not getting the 120fps, the game is stuck at 60fps. Please fix this bug before everybody goes to halo infinite.
The Game is very Buggy and it feels like we are playing on 30 fps not even 60 fps.
Same. It ruins the experience! And it affected Rebirth Island on the day of the update so it’s something broken with the game entirely. Please fix
I have exactly this problem. The game feels sluggy and lags extremely on my hdmi 2.1 Monitor. It is actually not even playable. Any help?
