Genshin Impact has one standard banner 5-star for almost all of its different elements. These 5-stars ensure that over time all players are guaranteed at least one 5-star from each of the primary elements in the game. With the release of Dendro in Genshin Impact Version 3.0, we will have a total of 2 elements that don’t have their own 5-star in the Standard Banner. Those would be Geo and Dendro.
Why We Need A 5-Star Dendro Unit in the Standard Banner
For Hydro we have Mona, Cryo has Qiqi, Anemo has Jean, Pyro has Diluc and Electro has Keqing. There’s only a Geo 5-star missing perhaps because we have a guaranteed Noelle who’s a Geo 4-star from the Beginner’s Banner. With the release of Sumeru and Dendro in the next update, players are expecting to have a standard banner Dendro 5-star character soon.
Recent leaks and rumors suggest that Genshin Impact might be adding Tighnari to the Standard Banner as the 5-star Dendro unit in the foreseeable future. This will likely happen during Genshin Impact’s 2nd Anniversary Celebration on September 28th. With the release of Sumeru being predicted around 23rd to 25th August and considering the reduced duration of the upcoming patches, we can expect Version 3.1 to drop around 25th to 27th of September.
It is understandable why we still don’t have a Geo 5-star in the Standard Banner due to Geo being a non-reactive element only good for shields. Dendro on the other hand is set to change the way we Genshin players interact and fight with the elements and so it’s understandable why Hoyoverse might be plotting to add Tighnari in the standard banner for everyone to receive and experience eventually.
Since Dendro will be a major player in Genshin Impact’s elemental gameplay going forward, it’s a good move to have a standard banner Dendro unit this soon in the game. These are still just questionable leaks and rumors but they still might affect Tighnari’s sales in the next update so chances are Genshin Impact won’t confirm this until later into Update 3.0.
