Slime Rancher 2 has been out less than three days now, and it’s already sitting at 4,914 Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. It’s not just smashed the game’s previous records but qualifies among a few games on Steam that gained such success so fast. We cannot ignore that the Modern Warfare beta is also ongoing; this year, it’s on Steam. Given the popularity of the CoD games, the success of Slime Rancher 2 is truly commendable.
6 hours after the launch of the game, CEO and Director of Slime Rancher Series Nick Popovich confirmed on Twitter the game sold more than 100K copies.
In a Tweet yesterday, Nick Popovich said, “Slime Rancher 2 is still selling at a rate we can hardly believe. It’ll be an exciting weekend, and I can’t wait to see all your amazing videos and reactions. To contribute, here’s my fav spot in the game. It’s a little corner I always save at, so I can be there when I return.”
This is the latest Tweet from the CEO, further confirming the game’s success.
At the time of Writing, Slime Rancher 2 is the 4th best-selling game in the US and 6th globally according to the Steam Top Sellers. These numbers are a dream for most AAA studios, let alone Indie games. We do not have the current sales number for Slime Rancher 2, but we estimate it some north of 500K.
