SCORN is an FPS survival horror adventure video game from the developer Ebb Software. The game has been in development for a very long time. We first heard of the game back in 2014. Since then, the game has basically gone off the radar, and people speculating that SCORN is not a real project. But, the developers have silenced all rumors with a release date for the game.
SCORN will release in fall 2021 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X|S. The pre-alpha of the game was revealed nearly 7 years back in 2014 and it seems the developers have taken their time to realize their vision. After funding from Xbox, the game had undergone massive changes and all for the good. At the current state, the game looks amazing environment-wise. Here is a gameplay trailer that you can watch.
The developer’s recent partnership with Xbox is delaying the game further, but nonetheless, it is all for the good of the game.
We got the first glimpse of the game at Gamescom 2021 through the official Xbox Gamepass trailer, so we know it’s a real thing and unless delayed will release sometime in November or December. We do not have an exact date, but some insiders suggest a Nov-end or the first week of Dec release.
The Steam page for Scorn is up with a TBD release date, but you can get a lot of details about the game from the page.
“Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry.”
“It is designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world”. Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself.”
“Every location contains its own theme (story), puzzles, and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world. Throughout the game, you will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, various items and try to comprehend the sights presented to you.”
There are very few games to look forward to in Fall 2021 and Scorn is a great game that we will personally be looking out for.
