First, you need to unlock 4 and 5-Star Tera Raids, since Hydreigon and Dragapult Tera Raids will be 4-Star and 5-Star. To unlock 4 Star raids, you need to get 7 Gym Badges. For 5 Star raids, you need to complete the entire game once. That means completing all three storylines to get 5-Star Tera Raids.
Once that is done, you need an active internet connection to download the latest news from the Poke Portal. This will be an automatic process if you are connected to the internet, but in case you don’t find the special Tera Crystals on the map, you can download it manually. After that, you can check the map for sparking Tera Raid Crystals during the time duration. You can get 10 such raids per day, so you have plenty of time to find them.
If you wish to join the other raid type, you have to team up with a Trainer who owns the other version of the game. You need to pay for the Nintendo Switch Online membership to join Trainers from around the world. Once they start the Tera Raid and share the Link Code, you can join their raid and get a chance to battle the other Tera Type Pokémon.
