If you have been playing Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, you have already got the point that the new expansion has brought several powerful monsters and creatures that players need to encounter at different points of the game to progress through the storyline. Shogun Ceanataur is one of those monsters players encounter in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
This guide will help you know how to defeat Shogun Ceanataur in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Shogun Ceanataur Guide- How to Defeat?
Shogun Ceanataur is one of the powerful enemies you’ll face in the game, and it is a giant crab-like creature. Before you fight, you must know where to find this giant crab-like creature. This enemy is located in the Flooded Forest, a dense jungle. But you can only find this creature during Master Rank quests.
If you have played the original Monster Hunter Rise game, you have seen Shogun Ceanataur in that game. This giant crab becomes more deadly in this expansion as it inflicts Bleeding Status Effect on the players. Therefore, be aware of Shogun Ceanataur attacks and prepare with high-level weapons and armor before you fight it.
Shogun Ceanataur is particularly weak to Fire, Blast, and Thunder types of damages. But avoid using elemental damages as your enemy has resistance against them. The best way to defeat Shogun Ceanataur is to attack its head and claws. Use powerful weapons equipped with Fire, Blast, or Thunder damage to speed up the defeating process. Besides attacking it, focus on defending yourself from its attacks by rolling, jumping, and diving them.
At first, this giant crab seems to be an easy enemy, but it becomes more challenging to defeat as time passes. Start attacking the crab’s claws; once you break them, the crab will topple over and make a chance for you to hit its head. You can destroy its shell, but upon doing so for the first time, it will go underground and come out with a new shell. If you break the second shell, it’ll be defenseless for the remaining fight.
While fighting Shogun Ceanataur, be aware of its attacks. It generally uses Water attacks and the Waterblight Effect (it drains stamina over time) to damage players, and these attacks deal huge damage. Another deadly attack is that it extends its claws, and when extended to the full, it becomes twice the length of its body. It is difficult to avoid the claws of Shogun Ceanataur. To continue the fight, players need to dodge the attacks of the Crab and use Nulberrys to cure the Waterblight effect. Except for these, it uses other attacks like Water Beam attacks, Claw Swipe attacks, Burrow, Charge, and Claw Slash attacks. The claw slash attack is especially deadly because it inflicts Bleeding effect. If you are hit by its claws too many times, you’ll get the Bleeding effect, which is difficult to cure.
That’s all players need to know about beating Shogun Ceanataur in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This fight will be challenging and time-consuming, but don’t lose your attention and focus; otherwise, you’ll be beaten by your enemy.
