Mobile RPGs are the highest-spending mobile gaming categories in the global market, per Sensor Tower‘s report. Among the countries, Japan, China, and South Korea contribute the most.
Mobile RPGs are the most popular mobile game genre in Japan, China, and South Korea. The three country’s revenue for Q1-3 in 2022 was $5.57 billion, $3.1 billion, and $2.35 billion, respectively. These countries alone accounts for 71% of the Global RPG revenue.
The Japanese market is the highest among the three countries and maintains 35% of revenue alone. The Chinese market has slowed down a little and was down 23% in 2020 to 20% in 2022.
Subcategories of the mobile RPGs, MMORPGs, Squad RPGs, and puzzles RPGs were the most popular and accounted for 80% of the market in mobile RPG categories.
Lineage W, Uma Musume, Pretty Derby, and monster Strike were the top-earning games in the mobile RPG categories.
