Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction and Rainbow Six Siege are closely interconnected as the former follows the latter. Siege, an online first-person tactical shooter, was released in 2015 where the players engaged in environmental destruction and cooperated with other users to complete objectives within the game. The players can use the different characters in-game called Operators who have their own narratives, weapons and skills, to play. The spin-off called Extraction features the characters of the first game and will be released in January 2022. As we already know, Extraction will be coming to the Xbox game pass. Siege came with a battle pass, and as with any feature of its predecessor, this beseeches the question: will Extraction also have a battle pass?
Does Rainbow Six Extraction have a battle pass?
Battle passes are utilized in the video game industry as a paid system that rewards players who purchase or subscribe to it. They provide additional content in-game usually through a tiered system, and the rewards depend on the player’s performance in completing the preset challenges. Some games offer free passes to all users or as a promotional tactic, while others have premium passes that are one-time or subscription-based, renewed monthly or annually. These passes are often a sign of status in-game, as they usually offer rewards that are cosmetic in nature, such as flashy character outfits and weapon customization without affecting the stats of the base game.
While Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction offered a battle pass to their players, there is no such evidence that its successor and spin-off Rainbow Six Siege will do so. In the trailer and pre-release footage, there have been no announcements made regarding the battle pass of Extraction.
However, there is a good chance of one being declared around the time of launch or even after, as Siege had a successful run with its battle pass. As Extraction has a similar player base with the same characters in-game that they know and love, it would be beneficial for the devs to work their way up to a battle pass for the new game.
