In order to view Objective and Map in Eastward, you need to press the Menu button or press + button on your Nintendo Switch and then use the shoulder buttons to jump onto the Map tab. And a detailed overview will be opened that shows in which location you are in currently. 

In order to move around, you can use the analog stick and you will see a man with a flag that serves as a pointer of where you are heading next. That is simple, you only need to follow that direction and continue the story.

In addition, if you want to keep all the tracks of your journey you have crossed so far, then open up the menu and then access the quest tab. It’ll also give you a clue what you should do next. You can use this option in case you won’t find any objective with a flag.
