How to Use Proxy on WhatsApp

How to Use Proxy on WhatsApp

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Facebook, has announced a new feature that will allow users to connect to the service through a proxy in order to bypass internet censorship. This is great news for users in countries where the internet is heavily censored, as it will allow them to communicate freely and securely.

The use of proxies to bypass internet censorship is not a new concept, but it is one that has gained popularity in recent years as more and more people seek ways to circumvent government-imposed restrictions on online content. Proxies work by routing internet traffic through a different server, which can be located in a different country where censorship is not as strict.

WhatsApp New Proxy Feature

WhatsApp has always been committed to providing a secure and private messaging platform for its users, and this new feature is no exception. By allowing users to connect through a proxy, the company is taking steps to ensure that its users have the ability to communicate freely and without fear of being monitored or censored. This allows users to access blocked websites and services, as well as communicate with others without fear of being monitored or tracked by the government.

How to Use Proxy on WhatsApp

The process of connecting to a proxy on WhatsApp is quite straightforward.

First, make sure you have the most current version of the app installed on your device.

Go to Settings

Then, go to the Chats tab and tap on “More options” followed by “Settings”.

Use Proxy Option

From there, tap on “Storage and Data” and then “Proxy”. You will then see the option to “Use Proxy”.

Enter Proxy Address

Once you tap on this option, you will be prompted to “Set Proxy” and enter the proxy address. After entering the proxy address, tap “Save” and a check mark will appear if the connection is successful.

If you are unable to send or receive WhatsApp messages using the proxy, it is possible that the proxy has been blocked. In this case, you can long press the blocked proxy address to delete it and then try entering a new proxy address to see if that works.

Despite these risks, the ability to use a proxy on WhatsApp is a welcome addition for those living in countries where the app is blocked. It provides a way for users to continue using the service despite government censorship, and allows them to stay connected with their friends and family

It is important to note that using a proxy to bypass internet censorship comes with some risks. For one, using a proxy server can slow down your internet connection as it routes your traffic through an additional server. Additionally, using a proxy can potentially expose your personal information to the proxy server operator, as all of your internet traffic will pass through their server.

Overall, the introduction of this new feature by WhatsApp is a welcome development for users in countries where internet censorship is a problem. It provides an additional layer of protection and allows users to communicate freely without fear of being monitored or censored. While it is not a perfect solution, it is a step in the right direction and one that will be appreciated by many users.
