FromSoftware’s upcoming RPG Elden Ring releases on 25th February for the platforms of Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is a survival game that follows the destruction of the eponymous Elden Ring, and players need to restore the artefact and become the Elden Lord. To achieve this, they will need to kill many enemies, learn combat and magic abilities to defeat the game bosses. There is much to the game in terms of new and old mechanics and plenty of mastery to focus on as combat and stealth skills are important. This guide will take you through the process of summoning Spirits in Elden Ring using Spirit Ashes.
How to Use Spirit Ashes to Summon Spirits in Elden Ring
Spirits are allies that can assist the player in combat against powerful enemies in Elden Ring. These friendly beings can be summoned using the ashes of the fallen—however, you can only call on one at a time. You also cannot summon Spirits in multiplayer mode. These spirits have limited AI and types of attacks, and cannot help you in multiplayer mode where the bosses are a lot tougher so this is something to keep in mind.

They can be summoned everywhere as long as you have the Summon Spirit option active—this is indicated by the glowing arch icon on your screen. It is a good idea to summon one when you’re in great need of it, like during a boss battle, as they have limited HP and duration in your game.
To summon a spirit, you can assign them to your quick menu items to quickly access it. You need a Spirit Bell to be able to call one, and the only thing you have to do is ring the Bell. The spell to call a Spirit does not take any spell slots like Incantations or Glintstone Magic.
Some spirits look humanoid while others are animals. They can choose to appear alone or in a group. They will cost you some FP to summon, depending on how strong they are.
