Riding a bore is one of the coolest mechanics in NieR Replicant, but you need to unlock it first by completing a quest. Unlike other games you would have played, there is no way to travel fast or fast travel in Nier Replicant. Instead, there is the bore and the boatman that can take you around. The boar as a mountable creature becomes available quite early on in the game. But you need to complete a quest to get the item that makes this possible. How to Ride Boars in Nier Replicant
To ride boars in Nier Replicant, you need to complete the “Boar Hunt!” side quest. This quest becomes quite early in the game. To get the quest, you need to talk to a villager in the Shopping District.
Once you are in the village, speak to the villager on the shopping district’ Northern End. He would be sitting on a crate. He will give you the quest and share the location of the wild boar, which is Northern Plains.
You need to go to the west of Northern Plains to find the boar. It will be near The Aerie entrance. As soon as you come face to face with it, the fight will begin as it starts to attack. Use the rocks nearby as cover, the boar will come charging towards you and hit the rocks. It will daze it for a few seconds and that’s the time you should come out of the rock cover and attack. Repeat this process and the boar will come down.
Once the boar is killed, it will drop the Boar Tusk. Whenever, you are out of the village, you can use the Boar Tusk to call for a boar and ride it. To make the call, open the Pause Menu > Orders > Animal > Call.
Complete the “Boar Hunt!” side quest will also reward you will 1000 gold. When the boar is killed, return to the villager who gave you the quest and you will get the reward.
