Complete the Story Missions

By participating in the main gameplay and completing all the story missions, you can earn a large chunk of EXP. It is best to farm XP early in the game, as the later chapter will grant you lesser XP as the levels start getting harder to farm. Also, the more experience you gain, the easier it will be to take down enemies in the later stages. If you are in Chapter 1, you just need to fight a couple of enemies to get increased XP by several levels. If you keep doing this, you can easily overcome the later chapters and beat the other bosses easily to farm XP.

Complete Secondary Battle Objectives

Whenever you are in a fight, you would have noticed certain notifications pop up giving you varying objectives. If you complete these optional objectives while in battle, you can get twice the amount of XP after the battle ends. You just have to keep a close eye on the screen while in a fight to pick up any optional battle objectives.

Use Luffy’s Observation Haki Ability

Luffy’s ability Observation Haki can give you a hint on which enemy will give you the most XP bonus. By pressing Y or triangle on your controller, you can scan all the enemies in battle and target only the one that will give you maximum XP upon defeat. This is a handy ability to have, so it should be used every time you enter battle.

Use the Party Feature

This will only work if you have some spare time between battles and if you are not too far into enemy territory. Throwing a party either by setting up camp in the camping spot or a tavern or bar can give you a boost when you enter battle next time. If you have hosted a party, you will receive a certain boost to farm XP during the next 10 battles.

Complete Secondary Quests

Apart from your main story missions, you will also receive secondary quests. Secondary quests like bounty hunts, finding memory links, and other optional missions can help you out if you are looking for additional XP. While it may not be a lot, it can come in handy if you are trying to farm a large amount of XP.

Visit Enemy Spawns

This is by far the best way to farm XP in the late game. There are certain areas that you can revisit to farm XP, and these areas will have an influx of enemies to fight. The larger the crowd, the more XP you can farm. Areas like the deserts and caves in Chapter 2, the City 7 Sewers in Chapter 4, and the mini region of New Royal Plateau in Dressrosa are the best places to farm XP and also get berries.
