How to Get Crystals in NieR Replicant
Crystals have a bunch of uses in NieR Replicant such as weapon upgrades and for the sidequest The King’s Mask. However, they are very rare and not at all easy to find. The King’s Mask is a side quest so it’s not necessary that you complete it to progress in the main story, but the huge reward of the quest makes it a worthwhile effort. The quest rewards 10,000 gold and you require the Crystals in order to complete the quest.
There are two ways to get Crystals in NieR Replicant as item drop in certain locations or you can purchase them once you have reached the second part of the game. If you are looking to get them in the world, you need to go the Barren Temple and look north of Façade.
However, the quickest way to access the Crystals is to purchase them from the materials shop in Façade. The shop is located right next to King’s Mansion and the crystal costs 2,400 Gold. It costs a lot, but after you complete the side quest you will still have 7,600 Gold more than what you invested.
It depends on your playing style. If you want to grind the world and find the crystals without sending money, you can farm them at the Barren Temple. However, if you are looking for a quick weapons upgrade, the best way is to purchase them. After completing The King’s Mask side quest, you will have plenty of gold to purchase a few of them.
