Twitch is a great platform, especially for gamers but lagging and buffering issues seriously hinder the gaming experience. If you are encountering the same issue, go through the below troubleshooting steps and fix the problem.

1. Make Sure Your Internet Connection is Stable

Firstly, make sure your internet connection is working fine and stable. If the speed of the connection is below average, then you might experience lagging or buffering issues. You can also try:

– Disconnecting other devices from your WiFi network

– Restarting your router or modem

– Using a wired connection

2. Clearing your Browser Cache

If the Twitch videos are still stuttering or lagging, then the next solution we recommend is to clear your browser cache. Here is how you can do it.

– Open up your browser and click on the three dots from the top-right corner

– Press Ctrl + H or click on History

– Select “Clear browsing data” from the menu

– Check the boxes “Cookies and other data” and “Cached images and files”

– Lastly, click on “Clear data”

3. Try Changing a Browser

Sometimes, you might experience Twitch stream lagging or buffering issues due to some issues in your browser. So, try switching it to a different browser and check if the issue is resolved or not.

4. Enable or Disable VPN Service

Sometimes, your VPN service may be interfering with your Twitch stream so try disabling or turning it off while using Twitch. On the other hand, if you are not using a VPN to connect to Twitch, try using a reliable VPN service to avoid internet throttling. And check if any of these methods make any difference.

5. Close Down Background Applications

Some unnecessary applications and software running in the background can prevent Twitch from loading properly. If that is the case, try closing down all unnecessary background apps and check. The issue should be resolved now.

6. Flushing your DNS

When your computer attempts to access any website, it needs to get the address from the DNS server again and so it is very important to flush out your DNS to fix the issue. To do this:

– Open up the Run dialogue box by pressing Win + R keys on your keyboard

– Then type cmd, press Shift + Enter and click on “Yes”

– Copy “ipconfig /flushdns” and then press paste it in the window and press “Enter”

– Once cleared, try launching Twitch and check if the problem is resolved
