Fixing PS5 NAT Type Failed Error

One of the main reasons why you are experiencing a NAT Type failed error on your PS5 is that you are living in a country where the internet connection is restricted. However, this error also appears if your ISP has blocked ports for your NAT on PlayStation 5 to be open. Here we have covered all potential solutions to fix the PS5 NAT type failed error.

1. Change the NAT Type of Your Internet

One of the simple methods to resolve the PS5 NAT type failed error is to change the NAT type of your internet type and set it as NAT Type 2. For this, you need to speak to your ISP to do so and they will help you out.

2. Using Ethernet Cable

This method is very easy and quick because you only need to switch your internet connection from WiFi to Wired. For this, first, disconnect your WiFi from your console and turn off the PS5. Then, connect your router to your PS5 using an Ethernet cable. Now, you are good to go.

3. Enable UPnP

If the above method doesn’t work, try enabling UPnP on your router. UPnP is a Universal Plug & Play and it offers the best multiplayer gaming experience on the PlayStation 5. By enabling UPnP on your router, it will port forward manually every time you run the game on your console. For this, you need to note down the IP address of your service and then go to the address by using your computer or mobile device.

There you will see an option to enable UPnP. Once enabled, make sure to restart your router and then check, the error should be fixed.

That’s everything you can try to fix the PS5 NAT type failed error.
