Out of all the enemies that you will come across in Halo Infinite, the Bassus is the most formidable foe. The Bassus is one of those bosses that you should not take on if you are not prepared enough for him. This quick guide will help you in defeating the Banished Brute.
How to Beat the Bassus in Halo Infinite
Right off the bat, you should be warned that the Bassus owns a Gravity Hammer, so one swing from it will turn you into a pulp. If you are done with the Excavation Site mission and are with destroying the cooling pylons, you will up against the Bassus next. You can follow these tips to help you beat him.
You should try to keep your distance from the Bassus and not take him head-on. Fighting him from a distance and avoiding the Gravity Hammer is your best bet. Also, the space that you will be fighting in is too small, so you will not be able to kite him. Use your plasma weapon to shoot and take his shields down. His shields will take time to regenerate, so using up a couple of shots into him will help keep the shields from recharging.
You can get some Fusion Coils from a room from where the battle started. You can pick up the Fusion Coils or Grapple Shot them, then use those to take out a large chunk of his health. It can also stun him momentarily, so you can use this to your benefit and run away if he is getting too close to you. You can get more Fusion Coils at the left of the control panel, as well as plasma refills and other weapons too. You can use these to your advantage to take him down.
Also, you can get away and run behind, out the corridor, and into the larger hangar spaces at the ends. You will be able to get more space this way and also take advantage of the elevated platforms. You can use the explosives in the room and shoot at the barrels when he gets close. You can alternatively use up your grenades at him. This will eventually decrease his health and ultimately kill him in no time.
And that’s it! If you can follow this technique, you will be able to take down The Bassus easily.
