The Crock Pot is one of the most useful structures in the wilderness survival game Don’t Starve with which you can make a variety of dishes from ingredients that satisfy the character’s Hunger needs. The utility of the Basic Food items is heightened only through a simple process that involves some time and space to place the Crock Pot. Usually, players have it close to the centre of the base near a fire resource so that they can keep cooking through the night. For more advanced players, it is recommended that you place them close to an Ice Box so that you can store the food you won’t be using immediately to extend its life as much as possible. Here’s our guide on how to make a Crock Pot early in the game.
Crafting a Crock Pot in Don’t Starve
You need to have the Science Machine to prototype the Crockpot, as well as 3 Cut Stones, 6 Charcoal and 6 Twigs. This is relatively easy to make as long as you have the Charcoal from burning trees. It is a good idea to pick a thick forest and use a Torch (or Willow’s Lighter if you’re playing as Willow) and light it on fire. Be careful not to step into the burning trees or you will take damage, unless you’re Willow who is fireproof. Once the fires have died down, you can cut the burnt trees down for Charcoal.
