Pichu is a Tiny Mouse Pokemon, which makes Pikachu a regular-sized mouse. You will be able to find it in specific locations around the region of Paldea, and capture it. This is available to you pretty early on in the game, but players might miss it if they are not aware where they can catch Pichu.
The first thing that you need to do if you want to catch Pichu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is to make your way to the Los Platos area. You might have already passed this area, so you need to go back to it. You can also find it to the south of Cortondo, which is its second spawn location.
Pichu is a pretty rare spawn, so you will need to spend some time exploring these two areas. You can try resetting the spawns by exiting the area for a few minutes and going back to it, or in this case alternate between the two areas. It is more likely to spawn around trees, but you can find them in the open too.
They will not run away from you, so you don’t need to sneak up on them. It’s a good idea to simply throw Poke Balls at it as it is a very low-level Pokemon. Once you have caught Pichu, you will be able to add it to your party and eventually evolve it when the friendship level is adequate enough.
