Ditto is a tough Pokémon to find, as they usually disguise themselves as other Pokémon. Each month, Ditto’s disguise changes, and this makes it even harder to find them. For January 2023, Ditto will take the following Pokémon disguises.
- Bidoof
- Dweeble
- Ekans
- Finneon
- Gastly
- Lillipup
- Natu
- Numel
- Spinarak
- Surskit
- Swirlix
There is only a 2%-3% chance to encounter a Ditto, which is 1/50, so you should keep trying to capture the above Pokémon till you get one. You will know that you have caught a Ditto if after capturing the Pokémon, an ‘Oh?’ is seen on the Pokeball. If you wish to capture a shiny Ditto, the probability of that is 1/64. Shiny Dittos will not appear as Shiny Pokémon in the wild, so the equation gets even trickier.
Dittos are not tied to any event and are mainly found in the wild. Your chances of capturing a Ditto can be heightened during the Swirlix Spotlight Hour on 10th January. Participating during the spotlight hour will give you increased chances of catching a disguised Ditto.
