Codemaster’s racing game F1 22 holds the official license for the 2022 Formula One and Formula 2 championships, making it one of the most acclaimed racing video games in the industry. It was released earlier this month for the platforms of Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Players are introduced to a slew of features in the game, such as altering the length of the race. This guide will take you through the process of how to change race length in F1 22.
How to Change Race Length in F1 22
The racing game lets players experience everything as part of the simulation of actual racing, including pit stops. While it can be quite challenging, there are ways to make things easier for beginners.

If the length of the races is shorter, you won’t have to go through a pit stop. To change your race length, all you need to do is go to your Game Options, where you need to make a few modifications. You will need to click on Weekend Structure to see the length of the session displayed at the bottom of the screen. This can be changed at this point.
Press on the left or right buttons to change the length of the race as per your wishes. You can make it longer or shorter, although we recommend making it shorter if you’re a beginner. This is a great way to get acclimatized to the game before you take on longer challenges. Here are all the race lengths that are available to you:
- Short – 5 laps
- Medium – A quarter of the standard race distance
- Long – Half of the standard race distance
- Full length – Standard distance of the real-world Grand Prix
Note that you will not be able to change the race length when you are midway through an event weekend.
